Christmas shmooze years 2006-07

Oh my Christmas.

Merry Happy Chanu-Christma New Year’s to all
.

I update so infrequently because of the lack of free time in my life, and when it does seem to happen, I decide to dedicate it to other endeavors. Towards the end of the year things become totally complicated, what with my balancing acts with work, and holidays and all of that.

I have been transformed from a fairly cold and steely person to one of those who writes cheesy ass cards. You know those Hallmark tender moments kinds of messages–I used to avoid them like the plague when I was younger, instead choosing to go the route of fart jokes, or other assorted unemotional fun. I have been edging closer to cheese overload as the years have gone on, but these last surgeries have jarred my emotionality, or lack thereof, and now I am not only not embarrassed and red-faced by the emotional moments I inspire, but I actually revel in them.

I sent out cards to everyone who sent me birthday cards, and everyone who has helped me out over the past year whose address I did have (with exception of very few). Some of you (Dana, Jho, and Doug) I did not have current contact information for, but I did think about you during these past holidays, and do wish happy and good things over the next year. If any of you wish to receive an actual piece of snail mail, it would be important to include your address in an email to me personally, so I can get right on that. I did enjoy writing my personal little messages to everyone, and t did feel good to actually reach out and thank people (I thanked every one of my doctors and surgeons to boot).

On Saturday I had my Christmas Eve’s Eve dinner where I made a turkey and had a lovely dinner for my friends. Kelly, E, Fetus, Francine, Sean and me. I got everyone something, effectively playing Santa Clause, given I had never given a majority of the kids there anything before, but also because, as the island of misfit toys that we are, it was important for me to see semblances of joy and surprise on their faces when they realized Santa had come for them. Even if they didn’t get another thing for Christmas, it was important for me to see them happy to get a token of my appreciation for them. As the Fetus said, I am the uniter, I guess. I never thought I had it in me (as in was I interesting enough) to keep everyone together and be a good enough hostess and reason to have people want to come together. I always waited for other people to be that person, when all along I had it in me to do it. This was a good thing to learn about myself over the past year, and I am really thankful to know it.

This coming year there are massive plans in the works for me in getting my goals figured and dreams discovered. I really want to wish all of you the best New Year ever and hope only good things happen for all of you! I have another secret side project in the works for my writing, so when it is available, I will let you all know!

I hope a book, then a tv movie or hollywood movie based on the book is the secret side project…I have high hopes for you… ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you got my return card…I didn’t even take my coat off when I dashed that off…lol…so, sorry for the multiple address labels (front and pre-printed on back)…I got all caught up in the moment.

Glad to see another entry here FINALLY…glad you had a lovely Christmachah…and have a happy and HEALTHY New Year!

      oh yes

I got your card and read it while I had a moment during my little dinner. It was a super nice card as well. I never thought I would be into this sappy mush stuff like I sent you…but I am starting to really get into it.

My projects are slowly taking shape, but in order to surprise everyone and get my motivations in order, for me it is now about doing instead of talking about it.

They are multi-media: (film, writing, business) ventures, though. What formats will be determined by time availability and such.

        Re: oh yes

Oh- I am a huge mush. I highly recommend. It’s a really good release…and you don’t always get enough time in this life to tell them how you really feel. You always think you have tomorrow…but no one knows better than you that today is more precious than tomorrow.

Glad to see you’ve got your creative juices flowing.

You’re card is in our dining room. The only one B consented to keeping…(well you also had the forsight not to get one with glitter which would be the biggest pet peeve of a neat freak…) ๐Ÿ™‚

        Don’t be a stranger…and good luck with the multi-media plans…

Hey, Rockstar. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m glad to hear you had a great Christmas with your friends! I don’t know you IRL, but I got the impression through your posts and what I’ve heard through Francis that you’d be a good uniter. I hope you got a nice thing or two yourself. ๐Ÿ˜‰

PS – Did my gift arrive? I sent them out to a few people, but some arrived pretty late; I hope mine arrived in time for the festivities. ๐Ÿ™‚

oh the fudge! Did I not thank you in my card and remark on the insanity that we picked the same card originally?

They were delicious to eat. Everyone ate them up…thank you so much!!!!

      You rock the house!

Thanks for the well wishes and happiness.

I did get the card- it arrived during my trip to Seattle. I’m glad the fudge was well received! ๐Ÿ™‚

It sounds like you all are having a blast over there. Keep having a good time! Hi to Francis!

***snog*** You know I love you. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so glad that you are doing well. Busy is good. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve kept myself somewhat sane this holiday by being busy. You couldn’t believe how much cookie I made! ๐Ÿ™‚

And without the hurt……….. ok, I’m really fucking lying, I hurt like a mother fscker from my head to my toes, especially the ankles, elbows, wrists & hips. ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ I really wanted to give my husband a wonderful Christmas romp in bed, and couldn’t even lay down I hurt so much. *feh* Oh well, its been worth it. I’m making the most wonderful Christmas Ham Chicken & Mushroom soup to console myself. And looking for a good cookie frosting recipe… I baked my cookies today. ๐Ÿ™

I love you girl… glad you posted. I promise I’ll email you current info. I had a package all for you, and I went seriously broke. ๐Ÿ™ *hug* Cheers and mega love for a wonderful new year.. You know my door is open anytime anywhere.

I’m glad you had a snazzy holiday! and I’m glad Francine finally got into the apartment! ๐Ÿ˜›
We had a nice time upstate except for all of us being sick, especially the littlest one. Sick babies is no good.
Hope to see you soon, though it might be better if it’s sometime when we can’t infect you.
    xoxo,
    D.
