In truth, it really is this way

So I went to the farewell party for 111 1St Street tonight, and I am fairly sober, probably because the one nib of alcohol I had was promptly soaked up by the two veggie burritos that were so out of style they stayed right in…my belly.

It’s fun to observe these clots of people, enamored enough with each other not to be too interested in what else is going on outside of their own shiny brand worlds.

I met a few people again I hadn’t seen in some time, and it’s probably the last time you will see so many of us out in the community actively ignoring each other’s presence and pretending we hold the only cool chip feasibly possible.

The gem of the evening was this dude who saw me looking around observing who said, “You lost?” Me: “No, just observing”. He: “Berlin?” ‘Why do you say that?”, I ask. “I like it there”. Me: “Cool”. Then he pushes the shoulder of his friend standing just behind me and says “you see this guy’s eyes, he has the softest eyes” Me: Eyes widen, “Oh”. His friend leans over and says “What?” I tell him about his friend’s comments on his soft and silky eyeballs. He chuckles uncomfortably and I say “Hey, do you ever feel the burn of your skin as his eyes burn holes into your back? He, “Well, we really are fond of each other. Me “Ah, see that’s awesome”…and I push his shoulder “it’s a reciprocal love thing”. He “Uhh…I have to sit on this one for a while.

I turned away and walked off laughing with the Fetus. It wasn’t his attempt to disguise his friend’s terrible segway into introducing him as the guy of the hour, but just how ridiculous people can be when attempting to do this. Spill your beans, so then I can tell you, Oh, no, thank you. But you just gotta waste my time, don’t ya weirdos?

On another note, I spoke to my old friend Kelley’s mom today. Kelley died over a year ago after being stricken with heart failure after taking geodone, which was prescribed to her and not appropriately handled. Kelley left her daughter Arielle, and her own mother, who I am quite fond of, fond enough to take her up on her offer to fly me out there, see Arielle, and stay in Kelley’s old room. Kelley I never had the right kind of closure with, mostly because I wanted a sign, something anything, that there was some other plane of existence. Never got that, but I am not always open to those explanations. It should be obvious that I do at times like to sit on my stinky negative pillow and fart big disappointment into the air.

Speaking of farting, oohh my, it’s quite painful, the feel of those burritos twisting around in my intestines.
